Laser technology enables many devices used in a wide range fields such as aerospace, medicine, remote sensing and environmental monitoring, energy, manufacturing, defense and homeland security, telecommunications, robotics, and entertainment. The LaserTech program prepares students for entry-level employment as a Technician in an advanced manufacturing environment that uses optical or laser-based technology. Courses cover how optical components and systems are manufactured, assembled, aligned, and tested. In less than two years, students can complete the LaserTech Certificate of Achievement via the core LaserTech courses, or add a few more general electives to earn an Associate Degree in Laser Technology.
